GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College lacrosse team will host Binghamton University on Saturday, March 1 on Boswell Field at the Caird Center for Sports and Recreation. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. and admission for all fans will be free.

This will be the ninth meeting between the Statesmen and Bearcats. Hobart leads the series, which began in 2005, 5-3. The Statesmen are 4-0 against BU in Geneva. Last season in Vestal, senior midfielder Michael Antinozzi scored twice to lead Binghamton to a 6-2 win over Hobart.

Both teams are coming off back-to-back losses to Siena and nationally-ranked Cornell.

Hobart lost to the Saints 12-7 to open the season and Binghamton dropped a 13-9 decision to Siena last Saturday. The Statesmen (0-2) led the Big Red 8-7 with three minutes remaining, but Cornell pumped in five goals down the stretch to salvage a 12-8 win in its home opener. The Bearcats (1-2) hosted the Big Red on Tuesday, falling 14-8. Cornell jumped out to a 4-1 lead and never looked back.

Jake McHenry and
Alex Love share the team scoring lead with five points apiece. McHenry has netted five goals while Love has four goals and an assist. Senior goalie
Peter Zonino rang up 18 saves against Cornell and sports a .547 save percentage and a 12.00 goals against average.

Junior attackman Paul O'Donnell is Binghamton's leading scorer with 10 points on seven goals and three assists. Senior attackman Matt Springer also has seven goals to go with an assist. First-year midfielder Dan Mazurek is BU's top faceoff man, winning 57.5 percent of his restarts and scooping up a team-high 16 ground balls. Junior goalie Max Schefler has an 11.23 GAA and a .458 save percentage.
