Hobart College senior attackman
Alex Love was one of 50 men's collegiate lacrosse players named to the 2015 Tewaaraton Watch List. It's the third year in a row Love has been named to the watch list.
A 2013 USILA honorable mention All-American, Love leads the team through the first two games of the season with a team-high six points on five goals and an assist.
Love recently became the top Division I scorer in Statesmen history when he recorded four goals against the then No. 10 ranked Cornell Big Red. He currently has 112 career goals to go along with 23 assists, and ranks fourth on the Statesmen Division I list for career points with 135, three shy of No. 3 Jamie Breslin '01. The two-time all-conference selection holds the Hobart Division I record for goals in a season with his 2013 total of 45, and ranks second on the list, having notched 38 goals in 2012.
The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the preeminent lacrosse award honoring the nation's top male and female lacrosse players. Love is the sixth Statesman to earn a place on the Tewaaration Watch list, along with Bobby Dattillo '12, Tyler Cassell '10, Max Silberlicht '10, Darly Veltman '08, and Greg McCarthy '05.
The Statesmen are back in action tomorrow, Feb. 28, when they travel to Binghamton for a non-conference clash with the Bearcats (0-2). Opening faceoff is slated for a noon start.
The game will be broadcast live by WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3). Fans can follow the game online with live stats and video.
