GENEVA, N.Y. - The William Smith College tennis team fell to #37 St. Lawrence 8-1 in a match contested at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. The Saints improve to 13-3 on the year while the Herons fall to 4-7.

First-year Michaelann Denton notched the lone win for William Smith defeating Morgan McNeal at No. 3, 7-5, 6-0. Denton is a team best 12-2 in singles play this season, including a perfect 10-0 this spring.

In doubles play, sophomore Hannah More and senior Haley Wolf kept things close at No. 1 but were topped by St. Lawrence's top double team 8-6.

The Herons will be back on the court on Wednesday, April 15, when they host Rochester Institute of Technology. The match is scheduled to be played at the HWS Tennis Center starting at 4 p.m.
