NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Hobart College squash team dropped its opening round match in the CSA Team Championships this afternoon. The No. 24 Statesmen were defeated by No. 17 Bates 9-0 in the quarterfinals.
The Bobcats (13-7) defeated Hobart (7-13) for the second time this week, Bates won 6-3 in Geneva on Valentine's Day. The Bobcats collected 3-0 sweeps at Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 8. In the top spot, Ahmed Abdel Khalek won his 60th straight match for Bates. Junior
Terrance Rose put up a strong fight for the Statesmen at No. 5. Anirudh Nambiar bested Rose, 13-11, 18-20, 11-9, 11-6. First-year

Danny Cabrera also forced four games before losing 3-1.
The Statesmen will return to action tomorrow when they take on Colby College at 9 a.m. The Mules edged Hobart 6-3 earlier this season at the Pioneer Valley Invitational.Â
