The Hobart College lacrosse team will make its 2016 debut at Boswell Field on Saturday, March 5, when the Statesmen take on Binghamton University at 2 p.m.
 
Due to the forecast, admission to the game will be free for all fans. Parking in the Boswell Field lot remains an exclusive benefit of Statesmen Athletic Association membership and is by permit only.
 
The Statesmen are 1-2 overall and looking to rebound from a 10-8 loss to then No. 19 Cornell this past Saturday. Junior attackmen 
Frank Brown and 
Sean Donnelly share the team scoring lead with eight points apiece. Brown has netted a team-high seven goals, while Donnelly shares the team lead in assists with first-year attackman 
Chris Aslanian with three.
 
Sophomore faceoff specialist 
J. Andrew Spallanzani is off to a strong start. Through three games, he has won 32-of-62 faceoffs and has a team-high 10 ground balls.
 
Defensively, junior 
Grant Soucy and sophomore 
Christopher Willman each have a team-high four caused turnovers. In the cage, junior 
Jackson Brown has 36 saves, a 12.03 goals against average, and a .463 save percentage.
 
The Bearcats (0-2) come to Geneva looking for their first victory of the season, coming up short against Colgate 11-4 and Marist 10-8. Sophomore midfielder Ben Kocis leads the offense with three goals and three assists. Senior midfielder Zach Scaduto is right behind him with three goals and two assists. Junior Dan Mazurek and sophomore Austin Macchi have combined to win 68 percent of the team's faceoffs this year. In goal, junior Tanner Cosens has started both games this year, making 21 saves for a .500 save percentage and a 10.5 goals against average.
 
This will be the 11th meeting between Hobart and Binghamton in a series that began in 2005. The Statesmen have won six of the first 10 contests, including an 11-10 victory in Vestal last year.
