Hobart hosts SJU on Saturday

Hobart College will host Saint Joseph's University in a Northeast Conference men's lacrosse game on Saturday, March 26. Faceoff at Boswell Field is scheduled for noon.

The sixth all-time meeting between the two programs will also mark the return of the Statesmen Athletic Association Tent. Lunch in the SAA Tent will begin at 11 a.m. and be available to SAA members through halftime. Season tickets and pregame meals are exclusive benefits of membership in the SAA. The Statesmen enter the game riding a three-game win streak and sport a 5-3 overall record. Hobart opened up NEC play last weekend at Wagner, defeating the Seahawks 10-9 in triple overtime. It was the fourth consecutive one-goal game the Statesmen have played, including back-to-back overtime games.

Could Hobart play a third consecutive overtime game? It's possible. Each of the past two meetings between the Statesmen and Hawks have ended in OT. Hobart stunned top-seeded Saint Joseph's 10-9 in double overtime in the semifinals of the 2014 NEC Tournament, while the Hawks got revenge last season, topping the Statesmen 7-6 in OT.

Junior attackman Frank Brown leads Hobart with 19 goals and 23 points. Behind sophomore J Andrew Spallanzani, the Statesmen are second in the NEC and 16th in the nation in faceoff percentage (.596). Junior goalie Jackson Brown anchors the defense with a 5-3 record, a 9.00 goals against average, and a .500 save percentage.

Junior attackman Mike Rastivo paces the Saint Joseph's offense with 16 goals and 11 assists for 27 points. The Hawks lead the NEC and are 11th in the nation in faceoff percentage (.614) thanks to the work of junior Mike Lanham. In goal, junior T.J. Jones is 5-2 with a 7.52 GAA and a .561 save percentage.

Hobart leads the series between the two programs 3-2, but the Hawks have won two of the past three games.

The game will be broadcast live by WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3). Fans can also follow the action online with All-Access Video and Live Stats.
