Hobart hosts Bryant on Saturday

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College lacrosse team hosts Bryant University in a key Northeast Conference game on Saturday, April 15. The opening faceoff at Boswell Field is scheduled for noon.

The game will be broadcast live on WEOS-FM (89.5/90.3 in Geneva). Fans can also follow the action with All-Access Video and Live Stats.

The Statesmen (5-6, 2-1) and the Bulldogs (7-5, 3-1) sit just behind first place Robert Morris (8-4, 4-0) in the NEC standings. Both teams have yet to play the Colonials, so the winner of Saturday's game still controls its own destiny in the hunt for the NEC regular season title.

Hobart is coming off a thrilling 8-7 overtime win at Saint Joseph's last Saturday. Senior attackman Frank Brown scored the game winner 18 seconds into extra time for the 100th point of his career. He is just the 11th Statesman in the program's Division I era to reach that plateau.

Sophomore attackman Chris Aslanian leads Hobart with 16 assists and 31 points. Brown is second with 30 points (18-12). Senior midfielder Max Romm and first-year attackman Justin Scott share the team lead with 20 goals apiece. Sophomore Matthew Pedicine has won 51.7 percent of his faceoffs and has a team-high 25 ground balls. Senior defenseman Arik Andreen sports a team-leading 15 caused turnovers and needs eight to tie the Statesmen career record. Senior goalie Jackson Brown is 4-6 with a .500 save percentage and an 11.77 GAA.

Bryant has won three in a row following last week's 13-7 win over Sacred Heart. Junior attackman Cam Ziegler had a team-high four points on three goals and an assist against the Pioneers.

Tucker James leads the offense with 29 goals and 21 assists for 50 points. Faceoff specialist Kenny Massa has a 60.2 percent success rate at the X as well as a team-high 84 ground balls. Anthony Johnson has a team best 16 caused turnovers. In the cage, James Werner is 7-5 with a .533 save percentage and a 7.70 GAA.

Bryant leads the all-time series with Hobart 5-3.
