The Hobart College squash team opened the 2018 portion of its schedule with an 8-1 win over Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif., this afternoon. With the victory, the Statesmen, who were ranked 25th in the latest College Squash Association Team Rankings, improve to 7-3 on the season.

Jack Shannon improved to 5-3 on the year with a 11-5, 11-2, 11-5 win over Samuel Duffy at No. 4, while classmate
Matthew Frantz collected his fifth win of the year with a 11-5, 11-0, 11-5 win in the sixth spot. First-years
Parkman Levis and
Quinn Udy extended the Statesmen's lead to 4-0 with wins at No. 8 and No. 2, respectively. Levis needed four games to bring home the victory, knocking off his opponent 11-5, 11-8, 5-11, 11-6. Udy secured an 11-5, 11-9, 11-7 win in his Hobart debut.

Divine Wing and
Terrance Rose collected their sixth wins of the season at No. 5 and No. 3, respectively. Wing won 11-7, 11-6, 11-9, while Rose prevailed 12-10, 11-4, 11-2. Junior
Josh Oakley improved to 5-2 at the top of the lineup, defeating Yousef Hindy 11-4, 11-3, 11-7. First-year
Trevor Laing closed out the match with a 15-13, 11-2, 11-9 victory at No. 9.
