MIDDLETOWN, Conn.- The Hobart College squash team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Stanford in its first round match of the College Squash Association Conroy Cup at Wesleyan's Rosenbaum Squash Center this afternoon. The Statesmen advance to the semifinals where they will face Tufts tomorrow, Feb. 24, at 11:30 a.m.

Twenty-fifth ranked Hobart (12-8), which is the top seed in the Conroy Cup, collected 3-0 victories in eight of the nine sports, knocking off No. 32 Stanford for the second time this season.

Josh Oakley continued his strong play in the No. 1 spot, defeating the Cardinal's Yousef Hindy 11-5, 11-7, 11-4. Oakley improves to 10-6 at No. 1 for the Statesmen. Senior
Terrance Rose collected his 11th win of the season, posting an 11-5, 11-3, 11-5 win at No. 3. Fellow seniors
Divine Wing,
Jack Shannon,
Matthew Frantz,
Cameron Adams, and
Fred Maynor all won their matches 3-0. Wing notched his team leading 12th victory of the season at No. 4, besting Chris Peisch 11-5, 11-6, 11-5. Shannon cruised past Samuel Duffy 11-4, 11-1, 11-4 at No. 5. Shannon is now 8-8 on the year, including a 3-2 mark in the fifth spot. Frantz also collected his eighth win of the season, outlasting his opponent 11-8, 11-5, 11-6 at No. 7. Adams clinched the match for Hobart, besting Benjamin Esposito 11-6, 11-2, 11-3 at No. 8. In one of the closer matches of the day, Maynor escaped with an 11-9, 14-12, 11-0 win at No. 9.

Ilyas Khan cruised past his opponent 11-8, 11-6, 11-3 at No. 6 to secure his 11th win of the season. First-year
Quinn Udy rallied to defeat his opponent in five games in the second spot. He dropped the first game 9-11 and the second game 6-11 before rattling off three straight wins, 11-7, 11-4, 11-3. Udy is 5-3 since joining the Statesmen in January.

The 28th-ranked Jumbos defeated No. 29 Connecticut College 7-2 to advance to tomorrow's semifinal match. Hobart edged Tufts 5-4 on Jan. 10 in Palo Alto, Calif.
