HARTFORD, Conn.-The Hobart College squash team was edged by Bowdoin 5-4 in the College Squash Association Conroy Cup championship match at Trinity's Kellner Squash Center this afternoon.

The 25th-ranked Statesmen advanced to the championship for the second consecutive season. Hobart defeated Stanford 9-0 and Tufts 6-3 to earn a spot in the final. The 26th-ranked Polar Bears advanced to the championship with a 5-4 win over Wesleyan and a 7-2 victory over Haverford.

Ilyas Khan Improved to 13-7 on the season with a 3-2 victory over Uday Khanna. Â Khan won 11-6, 5-11, 11-13, 11-4, 11-4 at No. 6. He was a perfect 3-0 in the No. 6 spot in Hobart's lineup. Â Senior
Jack Shannon rallied to defeat Gannon Leech 7-11-, 11-5, 11-8, 12-10. Shannon was 10-8 overall in his senior season. First-year
Quinn Udy swept his match in the No. 2 spot. He bested Satya Butler 11-9, 13-11, 11-6 to improve to 7-3 on the season. Junior
Josh Oakley tied the match at 4-4 with an 11-2, 11-4, 11-7 win in the top spot. Oakley was 12-6 this season, playing all 18 matches in the No. 1 spot.

Today's championship came down to the No. 4 spot. Senior
Divine Wing and Tyler Shornock battled it out for the championship point. Wing won game one 11-8 and game two 11-7. Shornock came back to win the final three games 11-9, 11-9, 11-2.

The Statesmen complete their season with a 13-9 overall record. While the team has completed its season, Hobart payers will be back in action next weekend, March 2-4, at the College Squash Association Individual Championships.
