CAMBRIDGE, Mass. —The No. 33 Hobart College squash team defeated No. 40 Bard 9-0 in the Chaffee Cup opening match this afternoon. The Statesmen will advance to the semifinals where they will face No. 37 Northeastern tomorrow, Feb. 29 at 11:15 a.m.
 
The No. 1 seed in the Chaffee Cup, Hobart won Nos. 1-3 in three games. Junior Quinn Udy earned his tenth win of the season with a win over Theo Webb in the No. 1 spot. First-year Giacomo Dalle Molle earned his fourth win of the season, defeating Artun Ak at No. 2. Sophomore Mo Abdelhafez increased his record in the No. 3 spot to 5-1 with a win over Noah Gichan.
 
First-year James Mazzarelli defeated Martin Graham in four games in the No. 4 spot. Sophomore Cameron Temoyan defeated Lukas Roscoe 11-2, 11-2, 11-4 at No. 5.  Sophomore Eric Molina improved his overall record to 9-9 with a win in the No. 6 spot.
 
Nos. 7-9 won in three games. Sophomore Quran Davis downed Alex Luscher 11-8, 11-3, 11-8 at No. 7. First-year Charlie Beall won all three games 11-5 in the No. 8 spot. Junior Jeffrey Wan earned a win 11-2, 11-5, 11-5 in the No. 9 spot.
 
The Huskies defeated No. 36 Denison 5-4. The match was tied 4-4, and Northeastern advanced with a win by default in the No. 9 spot.
