GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College football team will take on its second nationally-ranked opponent in as many games when the Statesmen host No. 23 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16.
Admission to Urick Stadium is free for all spectators. Anyone entering any indoor space on campus, including those ancillary to the stadium, is required to wear a mask. Masks are also required in crowded outdoor settings.
The 64th meeting between the Statesmen and Engineers will be broadcast live on WEOS-FM (89.3/90.5 in Geneva). Online, the game will be webcast on

The series between the Liberty League rivals is tied 31-31-1 with Hobart holding a 16-13-1 edge in games played in Geneva.
Hobart is 4-1 overall, 0-1 in the conference following a 28-21 loss at then No. 15 Ithaca. The Statesmen feature a potent rushing attack that's 19th in the nation averaging 241.4 yards per game. Running backs
Tim Denham Jr. and
Rayshawn Boswell lead the way, combining for 922 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. Boswell is also Hobart's second leading receiver (12 rec, 195 yds, 3 TD) and Denham is the league's top kickoff return threat with a 90-yard return for a touchdown against St. John Fisher to his credit.
Defensively, Hobart is 10th in the nation in total defense, allowing 216.8 yards per game. Linebacker
CJ Calero leads the swarming Statesmen with 24 tackles, 6.5 for loss, and 1.5 sacks.
RPI brings a 6-0 overall record and a 2-0 mark in league play to Geneva. The Engineers are coming off a 24-16 win over Buffalo State last Saturday. RPI quarterback George Marinopoulos has completed 65% of his passes for 1,455 yards and 18 touchdowns. He's fifth in the nation in passing touchdowns and 18th in passing yards. Slot receiver Peter Lombardi is his top target with a league-leading 41 receptions for 424 yards and six touchdowns.
The Engineers are second in the Liberty League in total defense, allowing 259.5 yards per game. Linebacker Joe Deptula leads the team with 46 tackles and 6.0 tackles for loss. RPI is tied with Hobart for second in the conference with eight interceptions. Defensive back Francis Perry is tied for the league lead with three picks.
