CANTON, N.Y.—The 25th-ranked Hobart College squash team was defeated by 19th-ranked St. Lawrence 7-2 at the Robie Squash Center this afternoon. With the loss, the Statesmen are now 1-3 to start the season.
The Saints (1-0) won five of their seven points 3-0, including wins at Nos. 1, 2 5, 6 and 8. Luis Alejandro Moncada Gonzalez and Sebi De La Vega won 3-1 at Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.
Roberto Vega improved to 2-2 on the year with his win at No. 7. He beat Oliver Bikhazi-Green, 11-6, 11-5, 11-5. In the closest match of the day,
James Mazzarelli rallied from a 2-0 deficit to knock off Dean Brooker, 6-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-5.
The Statesmen will be back in action tomorrow, Nov. 14, when it takes on Vassar in Poughkeepsie, New York. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
