Herons to host 3 Liberty League games this week

Parisi named to league honor roll

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College basketball team is scheduled to host three Liberty League games in Bristol Gym this week. The homestand begins Tuesday, Jan. 11 when Skidmore visits Geneva for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
 
The Herons (3-7), who are 2-2 in conference play, sit in fifth place in the league standings. Skidmore (6-2) is a half game behind the Herons with a 1-2 league record. On Friday, William Smith will welcome Bard (1-7, 0-3) to Bristol Gym followed by a Saturday matinee against Union (3-6, 1-2).
 
All three games will be webcast live on HWS All-Access. Fans can also track the action with live stats or listen to the games on WHWS-FM (89.5/90.3).
 
All spectators are asked to monitor their health and stay home if experiencing any COVID symptoms. All spectators are required to wear a properly fitting mask while inside Bristol Gym.
 
William Smith's leading scorer, Olivia Parisi, earned a spot on the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll this week. She averaged 16.0 points and 4.5 rebounds in a 1-1 weekend for the Herons. She led William Smith to a 70-53 victory at RIT on Friday, producing a team-high 18 points, six rebounds and two assists. She was 8-of-13 from the floor and 2-for-2 at the line against the Tigers. At Ithaca on Saturday, Parisi had 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting and 6-of-6 at the free throw line. For the week, she shot .545 from the floor and was perfect at the line.
 
A starter in all 10 games this season, Parisi is averaging 17.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals. She leads the team in field goal shooting and free throw shooting, making 47% from the floor and 94% at the line. Parisi is fourth in the nation in free throw percentage.
