Hobart to take on Ithaca, RIT

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College basketball team will take on Ithaca College and Rochester Institute of Technology in a pair of Liberty League games in Bristol Gym this weekend. The Statesmen and Bombers will tip off the weekend at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 with the Tigers coming to town for a 4 p.m. start Saturday.
 
Spectators are asked to monitor their health and stay home if experiencing any COVID symptoms. All spectators, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear properly fitting masks in Bristol Gym. Fans who cannot make the trip to Geneva can follow all the action with HWS All-Access video and Live Stats.
 
The games will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7).
 
Hobart (5-8, 2-4) is coming off a 102-82 win at RIT Tuesday night. The Statesmen had four players in double figures led by Pat Healy's game-high 25 points.
 
Jackson Meshanic is Hobart's leading scorer and rebounder through 13 games. He's averaging a league-leading 18.2 points per game and is third in the conference with 8.9 rebounds per game.
 
Ithaca (10-6, 6-3) is looking to bounce back from a 66-61 setback against league leader RPI on Tuesday. The Bombers have two players averaging more than 10 points per game. Luka Radovich leads the team at 15.2 points per game while adding 5.7 rebounds per game. Skylar Sinon is scoring at a 13.2 clip and also grabbing 5.7 boards per game.
 
The game will be the 93rd contest between the teams with the Bombers holding a 55-37 series lead. Ithaca has won each of the past two meetings, including a 91-85 triumph in Ithaca on Jan. 8.
 
RIT (6-8, 4-4) plays at Skidmore Friday night before visiting Geneva. Two Tigers are producing double digits this season. Kevin Ryan leads the team at 15.3 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. Chase Lewis is the team's most accurate 3-point shooter (.467, 21-of-45) and scores 10.5 points per game.
 
Hobart and RIT will square off on the hardwood for the 95th time. The Tigers lead the series 50-44, but the Statesmen have prevailed in eight straight and nine of the past 10.
