GENEVA, N.Y.—The 13th-ranked William Smith College Squash team was defeated by sixth-ranked Cornell 9-0 at the Smith Squash Center this evening. The Herons are now 2-1 on the season while the Big Red improve to 4-0 on the season.
MATCH MOMENTS:
- Cornell won seven of the nine matches 3-0.
- Rafaela Albuja Sanchez won her opening game but was edged by Wen Li Lai, 9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-5, in the No. 1 spot.
- Lark Ervasti also won her first game but was defeated by Ania LaDow, 9-11, 11-5, 11-4, 1—7, at No. 7.
- Despite being swept, Diya Moolani put up a strong fight at No. 5.

William Smith will be back in action this weekend, Dec. 3-4, when it heads to Poughkeepsie, New York, for three matches. The Herons will take on No. 17 Middlebury and No. 25 Wesleyan on Saturday and Vassar on Sunday.
