Two members of the William Smith squash team received All-Liberty League recognition today. Senior
Jada Smith-Padmore earned a spot on the first team and senior
Jess Finnerty received honorable mention recognition.

Captains, Smith-Padmore and Finnerty, led William Smith to a ninth-place finish in the Walker Cup at the College Squash Association Team Divisional Championships. The Herons also finished fourth at the Liberty League Championships.

Smith-Padmore finished her senior season with seven wins, playing all but one of William Smith's matches in the No. 1 spot. Smith Padmore went 1-1 at the Liberty League Championships. She beat Bard's Tarana Downer, 11-1, 11-2, 11-7. In a regular season match at St. Lawrence, Smith-Padmore rallied to beat Mariam Dodd, 5-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-5, 11-4. At the CSA Divisional Championships, Smith-Padmore closed out her collegiate career with a pair of 3-0 sweeps, beating Vassar's Charlotte Tobin, 11-9, 11-4, 11-7 and Bard's Downer, 11-2, 11-0, 11-1. She had a key win early in the season, coming from behind to beat Hamilton's Karis Sun, 10-12, 5-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-8.

Smith-Padmore compiled 41 career wins. She was an All-Liberty League second team selection in 2023-24.

Finnerty finished her senior season with five wins. She played 20 of the Herons' matches in the No. 2 spot. Finnerty closed out her career with wins over Vassar's Hope Fireison, 6-11, 12-10, 11-9, 11-4, and Bard's Catherine Chapel, 11-7, 11-4, 11-7. She also beat Fireison when the teams met in the regular season, 11-4, 11-8, 11-13, 9-11, 11-9, and Chapel at the Liberty League Championships, 11-5, 11-3, 11-1.
