GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College basketball team will host a pair of Liberty League foes and welcome back Statesmen Alumni this weekend. The Statesmen take on Clarkson University at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20 and St. Lawrence University at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.
Both games will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva) and webcast on HWS All-Access. Fans can also follow the action with Live Stats.

Stefan Thompson '13 and the current Statesmen will welcome and celebrate basketball alumni in Bristol Gym during both games. Former Statesmen will also compete in the annual Alumni Game at 11:15 a.m. Saturday. Following the St. Lawrence game, Hobart basketball alumni will gather at Dana's Time Out.
Hobart improved to 8-7 overall, 4-4 in conference play, with a pair of wins last weekend at Bard and at Union. The Statesmen beat the Dutchmen 77-74 on
Jackson Meshanic's buzzer beater that landed at No. 9 on ESPN SportsCenter's Top Plays.
SCOUTING REPORT: HOBART
- The Statesmen are one of the top rebounding teams in the nation. They rank third in Division III in rebounding margin (+11.7) and 63rd in rebounds per game (40.67). Both stats are tops in the Liberty League.
- Meshanic is ranked in the top 25 in the country in double-doubles (12th, 10), defensive rebounds per game (12th, 8.6), rebounds per game (23rd, 10.5), field goals made (23rd, 125) and points per game (24th, 21.3). He was named the Liberty League Performer of the Week and earned a spot on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for his play last week.
- Patrick Walker and Carter Meshanic are also averaging double figures for Hobart. Walker contributes 11.1 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Carter Meshanic adds 10.4 points and 4.5 rebounds.
SCOUTING REPORT: CLARKSON
- The Golden Knights are 5-9 overall, 2-5 in the Liberty League. Clarkson is mired in a six-game losing streak and looking for its first win since Dec. 11.
- CU has been strong on the glass. The Knights are fifth in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (31.57) and 77th in rebounds per game (40.0).
- Ryan Miles-Ferguson produces a team-high 16.2 points per game, while Finn Cork leads a balanced effort on the boards at 5.5.
- Friday's game will be the 146th between the Statesmen and Golden Knights. Hobart leads the series 85-60 and has prevailed in each of the past 12 meetings, including an 89-70 triumph in Potsdam last February.
SCOUTING REPORT: ST. LAWRENCE
- The Saints are 8-5 overall, 4-3 in league play, following a 50-37 win over then nationally ranked RPI last Saturday. SLU will play at RIT Friday night before heading to Geneva.
- A tough defending team, St. Lawrence is among the national leaders in scoring defense (14th, 61.1), field goal percentage defense (17th, .382), 3-point field goal percentage defense (66th, .300) and blocks per game (69th, 3.9).
- Trent Adamson paces the team's efforts in scoring and rebounding, averaging 13.2 points and 7.1 rebounds.
- Saturday's game will be the 142nd between Hobart and St. Lawrence. The Saints lead the series 86-55, but the Statesmen have won four of the past five, including a 64-49 win in Canton in the most recent showdown on Feb. 8, 2022.
