#12 Tufts bests #23 Hobart 7-2

MEDFORD, Mass.—The 23rd-ranked Hobart College squash team fell short to the 12th-ranked Tufts 7-2 in Medford, MA earlier this afternoon.
 
FOR RECORD
  • The Statesmen are now 0-2 on the year.
  • The Jumbos are 1-0.
 
STATESMEN NOTES
  • Hobart won two of the top three spots in the ladder, picking up victories of 2-0 at No. 2 and No. 3.
  • Omar Kiwan notched his second win of the season at No. 2. Despite dropping the first two games, Kiwan was leading 5-0 in the third game when Kerwin Teh, retired.
  • Dhirren Rajarathinam continued his success from the season opener and pulled out an 11-5, 11-8-, 2-11, 10-12, 11-7 win against Sanjeev Jeyabalanat No. 3.
  • Joseph Raskin Lantos' rally against Jared Chin fell just short, at No. 5. He lost 5-11, 11-3, 11-5, 7-11, 11-3.
 
FOR THE JUMBOS
  • The Jumbos dominated the bottom spots in the ladder, winning four in 3-0 sweeps to cement their victory.
  • The Jumbos won 3-1 at No. 1 and No. 4.
 
NEXT UP
The Statesmen will be back in action tomorrow, Nov. 19, when they take on Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The contest is set to begin at 11 a.m.
