Centennial Cup on the line in Football finale

The Hobart College football team will wrap up its regular season at the University of Rochester in the annual Centennial Cup game. The Statesmen and Yellowjackets are scheduled to kickoff at noon Saturday, Nov. 11 at Fauver Stadium.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
  • Since 2007, Hobart and Rochester have played for the Centennial Cup, which was commissioned to celebrate the 100th contest in the long-running series.
  • Hobart (7-2, 3-2) has secured its 15th consecutive winning season and aims to position itself to earn a fourth consecutive bowl bid.
  • It will be Senior Day for Rochester (5-4, 2-3). The Yellowjackets are trying to secure their first winning season since 2015.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
  • Saturday will mark the 115th meeting between Hobart and Rochester since the Yellowjackets won the inaugural matchup 40-0 on Oct. 19, 1892.
  • The Statesmen lead the series 59-48-7.
  • Hobart has dominated the rivalry in the 21st century, winning 19 of the past 21 contests.
  • Rochester is seeking its first win over the Statesmen since notching a 35-34 double overtime win in 2010.
 
WHEN HOBART HAS THE BALL
  • The Statesmen are fourth in the Liberty League in scoring offense (27.0 ppg) and total offense (370.3 yds/g).
  • Senior running back Rayshawn Boswell leads the Hobart ground game, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He's second in the league in rushing touchdowns with 11 and first in touchdowns per carry.
  • The Yellowjackets are fifth in the conference in scoring defense (23.0 ppg) and sixth in total defense (362.4 yds/g).
  • Junior linebacker Happy Chane is third in the Liberty League with a team-high 76 tackles.
 
WHEN ROCHESTER HAS THE BALL
  • The Yellowjackets rank fifth in the league in scoring offense (23.9 ppg) and total offense (348.1 yds/g).
  • UR senior wide receiver Trey Johnson leads the Liberty League with 67 receptions for 670 yards and four touchdowns.
  • Defensively, the Statesmen are second in the conference in scoring defense (9.2 ppg) and total defense (273.0 yds/g).
  • Junior linebackers Jaimen Bliss and Anthony Romano share the team lead with 62 tackles apiece. Senior defensive end Connor Gunn leads the league with 4.5 sacks.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS
  • Hobart junior punter/kicker Tobias Wefering leads the conference in punting average (42.3) and has dropped the highest percentage of his punts inside the opponents 20 (44.8%). He also has a league-high eight punts of 50 or more yards this season. Wefering is 7-of-10 on field goals and 36-of-38 on PATs.
  • Rochester punter Alex Wing is averaging 38.5 yards per punt and has a league-high 17 punts inside the 20 (41.4%).
  • UR kicker Jordan Laudani is 8-of-12 on field goals and 25-for-25 on PATs.
