The William Smith College basketball team is back home this weekend for another Liberty League competition. The Herons will face the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers on Saturday, Dec. 9. The game will take place in Bristol Gymnasium at 2 p.m.
Fans who can't make it to Bristol Gym can follow the game with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats. The game will also be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).
ABOUT THE HERONS
- Senior Brooke Jarvis leads the Liberty League and is 52nd in the nation with an average of 18.7 points per game. She is followed by first-year Amelia McCulley with 6.0 ppg.
- Jarvis is third in the conference in rebounds, averaging 9.0 per game. Junior Maddie Patrick is second on the team in rebounds with an average of 5.3 per game.
- First-year Jazzmyn Lewis and Jarvis are tied for seventh in the conference in steals, both averaging 1.7 per game.
- William Smith is 0-7 after a 75-52 loss to Vassar last weekend.
ABOUT THE ENGINEERS
- The Engineers recently defeated Clarkson University 72-40 this past Saturday.
- Nicole DaPra leads the Engineers in points, averaging 11.1 per game. She is followed by Siena Smith who averages 10.3 points per game.
- DaPra and Smith also leads the team in rebounds, averaging 6.4 and 6.3 rebounds, respectively.
- RPI will enter this weekend with a 4-4 overall record and a 1-1 record in the Liberty League
SERIES SNAPSHOT
- This will be the 74th matchup between William Smith and RPI. The Herons lead the series 46-28 including a 26-10 record against the Engineers in Geneva.
- The Engineers defeated the Herons 46-35 on Feb. 18, 2023. Patrick and sophomore Carly Scott combined for 12 points and four rebounds in the loss.
