PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—The 14th-ranked William Smith College squash team was tripped up by 15th-ranked Amherst College 8-1 in a consolation semifinal of the Kurtz Cup this morning.  With the loss, the Herons are now 17-4 overall on the year.
 
The Herons will conclude the College Squash Association team championships tomorrow, Feb. 19 when it takes on Bowdoin at 8:30 a.m.

• Amherst had five 3-0 sweeps. They won two matches 3-2 and one 3-1.
• William Smith earned its point via a 3-0 sweep.

 
SCORING SUMMARY

• Junior Rafaela Albuja Sanchez improved to 17-3 on the season with a win in the No. 1 spot. She beat Daksha Pathak, 11-7, 14-12, 11-6. It was her second win over Pathak this season.
• Senior Marce Marquez Martinez was edged by Callie Delalio, 6-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-2, 11-8 at No. 3.
• At No. 7, junior Lark Ervasti was tripped up by Morgan Chaudhary, 6-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-2, 11-1.
