SPARKS GLENCOE, Md.—On Saturday, March 18, the Hobart and William Smith lacrosse teams will compete in a doubleheader in the FCA Lacrosse Invitational presented by Kelly Benefits, at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks Glencoe, Maryland. The opening draw for the sixth-ranked Herons will be noon against No. 5 Salisbury University, with the Statesmen following at 3 p.m. facing off against Providence College.

General admission tickets to Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters are $12. The games will be webcast by Corrigan Sports Enterprises. They will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).

Hobart has alternated wins and losses this season, carrying a 3-3 record into Saturday's game. Head Coach Greg Raymond sees the game as a chance to connect the current Statesmen with alumni while also putting the Hobart brand in the middle of a recruiting hotbed.

"This is such an awesome opportunity," Raymond says. "We have great alumni and recruiting pockets in Maryland. This will be an exceptional day for our program."

The Friars are 4-3 following a 10-9 overtime win over Stony Brook University last Saturday. Jack Horrigan led Providence with four goals, including the OT winner.

The Herons are off to a 4-0 start for the second straight season. They're coming off a 19-11 win over No. 15 Bowdoin College on Tuesday.

Head Coach Anne Phillips is excited to take her team to the USA Lacrosse Headquarters and share the history of the game and reinforce William Smith's place in it.

"It will be a great opportunity to see all of the players and coaches who have been instrumental in shaping the great game of lacrosse," says Phillips. "We could not be more excited to travel to Maryland and compete against Salisbury University, one of the perennial powers in Division III!"

The Seagulls are 5-1 and have won three in a row entering Saturday's showdown, including a 10-8 win over No. 9 Gettysburg. Riley Hartman led SU with a hat trick against the Bullets.
