Hobart College senior forward Jackson Meshanic was named to the 2023 U.S. Basketball Writers Association Rochester Area first team. It's the third consecutive season that he has been named to the USBWA Rochester Area first team.

Meshanic has compiled a long list of accolades this postseason. He was named a third team All-American by both D3hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Meshanic also played in the 2023 NABC Reese's Senior All-Star game, producing 13 points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

D3hoops also named Meshanic its Regional Player of the Year and a first team All-Region selection. He was a first team All-District pick by the NABC. At the conference level, the Liberty League coaches voted Meshanic the Player of the Year and, for the third straight season, put him on the All-Liberty League first team.

Meshanic is believed to be the first Statesman to lead the team in scoring (21.5 ppg), rebounding (10.4 rpg) and assists (3.2 apg). He shot .552 from the floor, .489 from 3-point range and .714 at the free throw line. Meshanic led the conference in scoring, field goal percentage and double-doubles (16).

Meshanic finished his collegiate career with 1,428 points and ranks 12th on the program's all-time scoring list. His 789 career rebounds are fifth on the all-time list. Meshanic holds the Hobart career record for 3-point field goal percentage (.447) and the season record for field goal percentage (.651 in 2019-20).

Meshanic led Hobart to a 17-10 record this season, including a 12-6 mark in the Liberty League. The Statesmen were the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament, advancing to the semifinal round with an 83-61 win over sixth-seeded Vassar. Hobart's season came to a heartbreaking end dropping an 80-78 overtime decision at second-seeded and eventual conference champion St. Lawrence.

Over his four seasons, Hobart compiled a 69-40 record, including a 23-5 mark in 2019-20. That season the Statesmen advanced to the NCAA round of 16 with wins over No. 14 Saint Joseph and No. 17 Springfield. Hobart's third round game against Christopher Newport was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
