Baseball slated for 3 games against Rochester this weekend

[UPDATED] This story was updated at 5 p.m. March 31 to reflect the adjusted schedule for the Hobart-Rochester game to be played in Geneva.

The Hobart College baseball team heads to the University of Rochester this Saturday, April 1, to take on the Yellowjackets in a Liberty League doubleheader. The start time for Game 1 has been moved up to 9:30 a.m. from the original time of 1 p.m.

The Statesmen are 2-9 overall and 0-3 in conference play. Hobart is aiming to rebound from a three-game sweep by Clarkson. 

The Yellowjackets have an overall record of 9-7 and 1-2 in Liberty League play. They are coming off a 16-13 win over St. John Fisher University.

Junior catcher Ty Gallagher leads the Statesmen at the plate, hitting .353 with three doubles, a triple and two home runs. First-year pitcher Alex Marancik leads the pitching staff with a 1-1 record and a  1.35 ERA in 20 innings.

On Monday, Hobart and Rochester are scheduled to complete the series with a single game at McDonough Park in Geneva scheduled to start at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva). Online, fans can watch the game with HWS All-Access and follow the action with Live Stats.

The Retro Taco food truck, based in Palmyra, will be at McDonough Park, feeding fans.
