WORCESTER, Mass.—The Hobart College rowing team, which was ranked 23rd in the initial IRCA/IRA Tan Eyck Team Rankings, took on Holy Cross, which was ranked 17th, on Lake Quinsigamond this morning.
The Statesmen and Crusaders competed head-to-head in four varsity eight races. The 2,000-meter course had a light cross tailwind.
SECOND VARSITY EIGHT
- The 2V8 race was the closest race of the day. Holy Cross, which was 19th in the IRCA/IRA second varsity eight rankings, won the race by six seconds, stopping the clock at 6:01.3.
- Hobart's 2V8, which was ranked 25th, was powered by Corin Wiggins, Conrad Palmer, Ben Brodney, Adam Pomerantz, Trevor Beatley, Ryan Behar, Brogan Dietsche, Sam Peeler and Owen O'Connor, stopped the clock at 6:07.34.
THIRD VARSITY EIGHT
- Hobart's 3V8, which was ranked 16th, was defeated by the 19th ranked Crusaders by 10 seconds.
- Leah Henning, Jayden Dasher, Álvaro Paulin, Magnus von Krusensteirn, Tibor Teleki, Jake Hodge, Kevin Frost, Ian Selover and Bryce Miltenberger powered the Statesmen's boat down the Lake Quinsigamond course, stopping the clock at 6:12.97.

- Holy Cross' 1V, which was ranked 18th in the IRCA/IRA V8+ poll, posted a 12-second victory over Hobart's top boat.

Hobart will be back in action next weekend, April 30, when it takes on Columbia and Navy in West Windsor, New Jersey.
