Weather has impacted Wednesday's Hobart and William Smith Athletics schedule. The William Smith lacrosse Liberty League game against Rochester Institute of Technology will now be played in Geneva, while the non-conference Hobart baseball game against Elmira will move to Horseheads, New York.
LACROSSE
With thunderstorms in the forecast, the Heron lacrosse game against the Tigers will move to Geneva. Final determination on whether the game will be played on Boswell Field at Urick Stadium or inside the Poole Family Dome will be made on Wednesday based on the weather.
Live coverage of the game will be available on HWSAthletics.com.
William Smith is 9-0 for the first time since 2000. The Herons (3-0 in Liberty League) are ranked third in the nation in the IL Women/IWLCA poll and second in the NIKE/USA Lacrosse poll.
RIT is 3-5 overall, 1-3 in the league. The Tigers are looking to snap a three-game slide that includes one-goal losses to Vassar (11-10 in OT) and RPI (13-12).
BASEBALL
Due to wet field conditions at McDonough Park, the Statesmen and Pioneers will instead square off at Holding Point Recreation Center in Horseheads, New York. First pitch has been moved up to 3:30 p.m.
Live coverage of the game will be available on the Pioneers' website athletics.elmira.edu.
Both teams are looking to bounce back from sweeps in their respective conferences. The Statesmen slipped to 2-12 overall after losing three in a row to Liberty League rival Rochester. Elmira aims to rebound following three straight losses to Empire 8 foe Russell Sage.
