Baseball to visit Alfred State to close season

The Hobart College baseball team will wrap up its season with a game at Alfred State College Friday, May 5 at 4 p.m.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. Hobart (9-20) is coming off a 9-6 win at regionally-ranked Ithaca. Sophomore Griffin Snyder threw a season-long 8 1-3 innings to pick up his third win of the season.
  2. Graduate student Michael Whiteherse, who completed his undergraduate degree at Bethany, leads the Liberty League with 31 stolen bases. The player who is second in the league has five fewer thefts, despite playing in 14 more games.
  3. Junior Ty Gallagher is fifth in the Liberty League in on-base percentage (.525), seventh in slugging percentage (.625) and fifth in OPS (1.150). 
  4. Alfred State is 24-14 and clinched the top seed in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. The Pioneers are coming off a doubleheader sweep of La Roche on Saturday.
  5. Alfred State senior Nick Serce leads the team with 51 hits, 17 home runs, 43 RBIs and a .408 batting average.
