Herons host Dutchwomen in Liberty League semifinal

The third-ranked William Smith College lacrosse team will be back in action Friday, May 5, when it welcomes Union to Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium for a Liberty League Tournament semifinal. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
 
The Herons finished the regular season with a 16-0 overall record, 10-0 in conference play, claiming the Liberty League regular season title. Last weekend, the Herons defeated Vassar 19-8 to close out the regular season. Sophomore Katherine Murray led the Herons with a career-high six goals.
 
The Dutchwomen are 11-5 overall. The No. 4 seed, Union advanced to the semifinals with a 12-11 win over Rensselaer on Tuesday. Sydney McParlton led the way for the Dutchwomen with five points on four goals and an assist. Sydney Widlitz made 14 saves on her way to picking up the win.
 
Fans who can't make the trip to Geneva can follow the action with HWS All-Access and Live Stats. The game will also be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).
 
Second-seeded Ithaca will host sixth-seeded Vassar in the other semifinal. That game is also scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. The winners will meet Sunday for the Liberty League Championship at the highest remaining seed.
