The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its 2025-26 academic award winners today. William Smith was one of 357 schools across NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA to merit the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad award. In addition, a record 13 Herons earned a spot on the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll.

To be named an Academic Honor Squad, the team must have a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. William Smith has earned the award 15 times, including 13 of the last 14 years.

To be eligible for the academic honor roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Since 2009, William Smith lacrosse players have earned a spot on the annual IWLCA Academic Honor Roll 90 times. This is the third time the Herons have had double-digit selections (11 in 2021, 12 in 2024).

William Smith finished the year with a 17-3 overall record. The Herons went 10-0 in Liberty League play, capturing the regular season and tournament titles. William Smith qualified for the NCAA tournament for the 10th straight year. The Herons led the nation in clearing percentage (.918). In addition, William Smith was second in turnovers per game (12.20), sixth in winning percentage (.850) and seventh in draw control percentage (.644).
