Hobart College alum Jackson Meshanic '23 recently signed a contract to play professional basketball with Avanti Mondorf of the Luxembourg Basketball Federation.

Named a third team All-American by both D3hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches this season, Meshanic led the Statesmen in scoring in each of his final three seasons, finishing his career with 1,428 points which ranks 12th on the program's all-time list. He holds the Hobart career record for 3-point percentage (.447) and ranks fourth in career field goal percentage (.566), fifth in career rebounds (789) and 11th in career free throws made (288).

During his senior season, Meshanic averaged a Liberty League leading 21.5 points per game and was second in the conference in rebounds per game (10.4). He ranked 12th in the nation in field goals made (218), 16th in double-doubles (16), 21st in total points (580) and 22nd in total rebounds (281). Meshanic scored 11 or more points in every game this season, including a season-high 34-point performance in a win over Skidmore.

In addition to his All-America honors, Meshanic represented Hobart in the Reese's Senior All-Star game. He was also tabbed the 2022-23 D3hoops.com Regional Player of the Year and the 2022-23 Liberty League Player of the Year. Meshanic was a three-time D3hoops.com All-Region pick and a three-time first team All-Liberty League selection.

During his four seasons, Meshanic led Hobart to a 69-40 record. In 2019-20, he helped Hobart win a program record-matching 23 games as the Statesmen advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament for the first time before the tournament was shut down by COVID.

Meshanic will be the first Statesman to play professionally since Colin Dougherty '19, who has played in Cyprus and Switzerland. Other recent Statesmen to play across the pond include Davidek Herron '03 (Germany, Czech Republic, Philippines), Joe Corbett '03 (Denmark) and Rob Pisanelli '00 (Italy).
