LEWISTON, MAINE—The 17th-ranked Hobart College squash team edged 25th-ranked Bates College 5-4 at the Bates Squash Center this afternoon. Today's win was the Statesmen's second consecutive victory against the Bobcats.

MATCH SUMMARY
- Senior Hussein Labib clinched the overall match for the Statesmen with his win in the No. 1 spot. He defeated Alec Spiro in a back-and-forth match, 8-11, 13-11, 4-11, 11-4, 11-8. It was Labib's second win of the season.
- Junior Roberto Vega also had come from behind victory. In the No. 5 spot, he bested Harris Ramlee, 11-4, 9-11, 9-11, 11-2, 11-9. It was Vega's second win of the year.
- First-year Dhirren Rajarathinam logged his team-leading sixth win of the year this afternoon. He beat Nicolai Boe, 4-11, 11-4, 11-4, 11-5. All six of Rajarathinam's victories have come in the No. 3 spot.
- Senior Omar Kiwan improved to 3-4 on the year, picking up a 3-1 win in the No. 2 spot. He topped Labeeb Ali, 11-7, 11-6, 10-12, 11-7.
- First-year Matthew Aldana swept Philip Han, 11-1, 13-11, 11-8, in the No. 9 spot. It was Aldana's first collegiate win.
- Bates had three 3-0 sweeps and won their fourth point with a 3-1 victory at No. 8.

Hobart will be back in action on Sunday, Jan. 14, when it welcomes Navy to the Smith Squash Center. The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
