The William Smith squash team opened its season with a pair of matches in Granville, Ohio this weekend, Nov. 9-10. On Saturday, the Herons were beaten by Denison 9-0. This afternoon William Smith was edged by Dickinson 7-2.

AGAINST THE BIG RED
- Dickinson won eight of their nine matches in 3-0 sweeps.
- Brianna Lucero was edged 11-7, 11-3, 11-2 in the No. 2 spot.
- Playing in her first career match, first-year Reshika Rajarathinam put up a strong fight in the No. 1 spot. She was edged by Charlotte Jones, 8-11, 10-12, 11-5, 11-7, 11-5.
- It was also the first collegiate match for Scarlett Sandoval, Kimberly Javier, Teghan Torrey, Danielle Dezart, Ashley Ambrosio and Grace Whittaker.
- The Big Red are ranked 23rd in the College Squash Assocation Team Rankings.

AGAINSTÂ THE RED DEVILS
- Dickinson picked up 3-0 sweeps to earn all seven of its points in the match.
- The Red Devils are 2-0 on the year and ranked 22nd in the College Squash Association team rankings.

William Smith returns home next Sunday, Nov. 17, when it hosts Hamilton. The match begins a five-match homestand for the Herons.
