Statesmen host Hobart Basketball Tournament this weekend

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart basketball team will host Buffalo State, Keuka and Penn State Behrend in an in-season tournament Nov. 22-23 in Bristol Gym. Admission to all four games is free.
 
The Statesmen (1-2) and Wolves (2-1) tip off the action at 5:30 p.m. Friday with the Bengals and Lions squaring off in the other semifinal at 7:45 p.m. Saturday's schedule begins with the consolation game at 3 p.m. and the championship game at 5:15 p.m.
 
Fans can follow all of the action with streaming video on HWS All-Access and Live Stats. Hobart's games will also be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7).
 
Hobart and Keuka will meet for the 20th time on the basketball court with the Statesmen holding an 11-8 series lead. Hobart has won each of the past five meetings, including most recently, a 94-63 victory in Bristol Gym on Nov. 29, 2022. The Wolves haven't won in Geneva since Nov. 20, 2005.
 
Buffalo State will take on Penn State Behrend for the seventh time with the Bengals holding a 4-2 advantage in the series. The Lions won the most recent meeting 58-55 on Jan. 3, 2003, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Buffalo State last topped Penn State Behrend on Jan. 24, 1994, 81-79 in Erie.
