GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith squash team wrapped up the 2024 portion of its schedule with a pair of home matches this past weekend. The Herons welcomed a pair of top-20 NESCAC teams to the Smith Squash Center over the weekend.
On Saturday, William Smith was defeated by #16 Middlebury 9-0, and on Sunday the Herons were beaten by Amherst 9-0.
AGAINST THE PANTHERS
- Middlebury won eight of the nine matches in 3-0 sweeps.
- First-year Reshika Rajarathinam put up a strong fight in the No. 1 spot but was edged by Lindsey Burnham, 11-13, 9-11, 8-11, 5-11.
- It was the second straight win for Middlebury against the Herons.
AGAINST THE MAMMOTHS
- Amherst won all nine matches in 3-0 sweeps.
- Brianna Lucero had the closest match of the day but was edged, 11-0, 11-8, 12-10 by Alex Brown.
- The Mammoths are 11-4 all-time against William Smith.

William Smith will be in action on January 8, 2025, when it welcomes St. Lawrence to the Smith Squash Center.
