FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT HOBART
- The Statesmen bring a 15-4 overall record (8-4 Liberty League) into the weekend. Hobart's current three-game win streak began with a 79-77 win at Clarkson on Jan. 20.
- Statistically, the Statesmen rank in the top 50 in the nation in free throws made per game (40th, 15.6), free throw percentage (46th, .746) and rebound margin (49th, +5.9). Hobart is 51st in the nation in winning percentage (.789).
- Offensively, the Statesmen have four players averaging double digits in the scoring column. Junior Aidan Rodgers leads the way at 13.2 ppg, followed by junior Carter Meshanic (12.7), junior Pat Healy (12.2) and first-year Alex Moesch (10.9). Senior Isaiah Washington is knocking on the door, averaging 9.8 ppg.
- Rodgers leads the Liberty League in assist-to-turnover at 1.9. He's one of only two players in the conference with 60-plus assists (62) and 30-plus steals (31) this season.
- Speaking of Rodgers, his 1.6 steals per game this year would be the highest by a Statesman since Jamal Lucas '18 averaged 2.2 thefts per game in 2017-18.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
- Clarkson comes to Geneva with an 11-8 overall record (5-7). The Knights are in eighth place in the league standings, a half game behind Ithaca and RIT, which are tied for the sixth and final playoff spot.
- CU is looking to rebound from an 89-65 loss to Bard in Potsdam last Saturday.
- Graduate student Ryan Miles-Ferguson is the Liberty League scoring leader at 20.1 ppg.
- Friday's game will be the 149th meeting between the Statesmen and Golden Knights. Hobart leads the series 87-61.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
- Riding an eight-game win streak into Friday's game at RIT, St. Lawrence is 14-4 overall and sits atop the league standings with a 10-2 mark. The Saints are 9-0 at home and 4-4 on the road.
- Behind the league's stingiest defense (57.3 ppg), SLU is outscoring opponents by 10.4 ppg, nearly double the margin enjoyed by the No. 2 team in the league (RPI, +5.4).
- Sophomore Adam Dudzinski paces the offense, producing 15.0 ppg. He leads the conference with four double-doubles.
- Saturday's game will be the 146th meeting between the Statesmen and Saints with SLU leading the series 89-56. The teams have split the past 10 contests.
