GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College volleyball team fell to No. 1 Wentworth Institute of Technology, 3-0, to close out the Statesmen Volleyball Classic this afternoon in Bristol Gymnasium. The Statesmen fall to 10-4 on the season, while the top-ranked Leopards remain unbeaten and move to 11-0.

Andrew Kim led Hobart with 16 kills (.263) in the loss. He added six digs, five assists and two blocks for the Statesmen. First-year
Daniel Sappia chipped in eight kills (.167), while classmate
Aiden Kemora added six (.188). The two combined for six digs, four blocks and two service aces on the afternoon.
Jacob LaBouliere led Wentworth with a match-high 17 kills (.441), four digs and one solo block. Jacob Waga added 11 kills (.400) for the Leopards.
MATCH MOMENTS:
- The opening set saw six tie scores and three lead changes as Hobart put down 12 kills (.310) as a team compared to Wentworth's 15 (.357). Kim led the Statesmen with seven kills (.538) as Hobart maintained a lead until the Leopard's late comeback. Wentworth's Tyler Jack recorded a service ace to steal the opening set from the Statesmen, 26-24.
- Wentworth came out hot in the second, putting down 14 kills on zero errors (.560) compared to Hobart's nine kills and eight errors (.038). The Leopards recorded four blocks to the Statesmen's zero as it extended its lead to 2-0 with a dominating 25-14 win in set two.
- Hobart fought back in the third, going toe-to-toe with the nation's top ranked team. Kim tallied seven kills (.294) in the third as both sides traded the lead. The final set saw 12 tie scores and eight lead changes which resulted in a thrilling 29-27 win for Wentworth, who completed the sweep over the Statesmen.
MATCH STATS:
- Kim led the Statesmen with 16 kills (.263), while Sappia added eight (.167) and Kemora chipped in six (.188). First-year Grayson Getz recorded five kills (.364) out of the middle.
- First-year setter Zack Farren tallied 21 assists, one dig and one block in the loss.
- First-year libero Gavin Meador recorded a team-leading 10 digs, while Kim added six and Sappia chipped in four for Hobart.

Hobart will be back in action Friday, Feb. 23, when it travels to Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, to take on Bard College in nonconference action. First serve between the Statesmen and the Raptors is sent for 7 p.m. in the Stevenson Athletic Center.
