#14 Herons sweep Haverford for 10th win

CANTON, N.Y.—The 14th-ranked William Smith squash team cruised to a 9-0 win over Haverford 9-0 at St. Lawrence's Robbie Squash Center in the semifinals of the Liberty League Women's Squash Center.  
 
The Herons, who are now 10-3 overall this season will play for their third Liberty League title since 2019-20.  William Smith will take on 25th-ranked St. Lawrence tomorrow at 10 a.m.
 
MATCH SUMMARY
  • William Smith won all nine matches in 3-0 sweeps.
  • In the No. 1 spot, Rafaela Albuja Sanchez defeated Ariana Solecki, 11-1, 11-4, 11-5. With the win, Albuja Sanchez extended her win streak to 10 matches. She is 11-2 in the No. 1 spot.
  • Laila Selim lost only four points as she won 11-1, 11-1, 11-2 at No. 2. With the victory, Selim is now 9-4 on the year, playing all 13 matches in the second spot.
  • Nathalie Sim won her seventh straight match, topping Emi Krishnamurthy, 11-1, 11-6, 11-1 at No. 3. Sim is 9-2 this season.
  • In the No. 4 spot, Anna O'Connor beat Zoe Liu, 11-3, 11-3, 11-2. It was O'Connor's eighth win of the year. She is 7-2 in the fourth spot.
  • Shante Frank defeated Maya Johnson-Fradin, 11-2, 11-2, 11-6.
  • At No. 6, Lark Ervasti lost only two points as she won 11-1, 11-1, 11-0. Ervasti has seven wins this season.
  • Jess Finnerty bested Amy Saxon, 11-5, 11-5, 11-3. Finnerty is 8-5 on the year.
  • Brianna Lucero swept Sara Kotapka, 11-1, 11-0, 11-5, at No. 8.
  • Tamia Rollaing beat Nayera Hasan, 11-1, 11-1, 11-2.
 
 
The Saints advanced to tomorrow's title match with an 8-1 win over Denison University.  William Smith beat St. Lawrence 8-1 earlier this season.
