The Hobart baseball team will host Liberty League rival St. Lawrence University for a three-game series this weekend. With recent rain and snow making McDonough Park unplayable, the Statesmen will face the Saints in Game 1 at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at Falcon Park in Auburn, New York. The series will shift to Canandaigua for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7 at Finger Lakes Community College's baseball field.

Gavin Brignall delivered the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to give the Statesmen a 5-4 win in Game 1.

St. Lawrence (6-10, 1-5) aims to snap a four-game slide after dropping all three games to Ithaca last weekend.

SCOUTING THE STATESMEN
- As a team, Hobart is batting .267, ninth in the Liberty League. On the mound, the Statesmen are third in the league in ERA with a 5.10 and fourth in opponent batting average (.266). Defensively, Hobart is fourth in fielding percentage (.952).
- Sophomore Christian Petry has reached base safely in 20 straight games dating back to last season. He's hitting .274 with a .434 on-base percentage.
- Sophomore Will Jones is hitting a team-high .367 with a team-leading 17 RBIs.
- Junior Griffin Snyder and sophomore Teck Nash share the team lead in innings pitched at 26 apiece. Snyder has a team-low 3.81 ERA while holding opponents to a .226 batting average. Nash has Hobart's only complete game shutout this season.
- First-year starting pitcher Trevor Kimball is 3-0 with a team-high 21 strikeouts and a 4.98 ERA in 21 2-3 innings.

- As a team, St. Lawrence is batting .284, fifth in the Liberty League. On the mound, the Saints are last in the league in ERA with a 8.97 and in opponent batting average (.266). Defensively, Hobart is fourth in fielding percentage (.952).
- Jackson Brinker leads five Saints hitting over .300. He's batting .346 with a team-high 19 runs scored.
