Kipkoech leads Hobart at Liberty League Championships

CANTON, N.Y.—The Hobart cross country team ran to an eighth-place finish at the Liberty League Championships this afternoon hosted by St. Lawrence.
 
Sophomore Duncan Kipkoech led the Statesmen with a 41st place finish after stopping the clock at 27:47.8. He was followed by first-year Malachi Quinn in 52nd with a time of 28:25.9. Sophomore Philip Dilgard-Clark rounded out the top three Statesmen with a 53rd place finish after clocking in at 28:43.2.
 
Senior Sean Moran added a 54th place finish after crossing the finish line at 28.55.7, while sophomore Evan Shannon followed in 55th with a time of 29:15.6.
 
RPI finished on top of the team leaderboard after producing seven top-10 finishers in the 8-kilometer race. St. Lawrence's Nicholas Lyndaker was the event's individual medalists after stopping the clock at 25:16.6. It is the second straight year Lyndaker was crowned the individual champion.

Hobart will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 15, when it travels to Rochester, New York, for the NCAA Niagara Regional Championships.
