CANTON, N.Y.—Senior
Hope Johnson led William Smith at the 2025 Liberty League Women's Cross Country Championships this afternoon. For the third year in a row the Herons finished seventh in the nine-team field.
Johnson posted a 6-kilometer time of 24:55.0, placing 44th in a field of 101 runners. It's the highest finish by a Heron at the league championships since Ainsley Woods was 38th in 2023.

TEAM STANDINGS
- William Smith finished the race with 221 points, 20 ahead of eighth-place Clarkson and 62 points clear of ninth-place Bard. The Herons were 56 points behind sixth-place Union.
- With three runners in the top five, Vassar won the team championship by 33 points over runner-up St. Lawrence.
- RPI, Ithaca and RIT were third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
INDIVIDUAL WINNER
- RPI's Jules Bleskoski won the individual championship, posting a time of 21:17.3, more than third seconds ahead of runner-up Haley Schoenegge of Vassar.

- William Smith's next race will be Saturday, Nov. 15, when the Herons compete in the NCAA Niagara Regional Championships hosted by Rochester.
