FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
  1. Hobart has won three in a row. If the Statesmen can make it four, they would even their record at 5-5 and avoid the program's first losing season in over a decade.
  2. Hobart junior running back E.J. Taylor has 1,009 rushing yards this season, his second straight 1,000-yard season. He's the first Statesman with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons since Steven Webb in 2012 and 2013. Taylor has posted five consecutive 100-yard game and seven total this season.
  3. The game will feature the top two players in the Liberty League in all purpose yards per game. Taylor is averaging a league-high 129.7 yards per game, while Buffalo State's Jeadi Higdon averages 126.6. Both players are primarily running back, but Higdon is also a potent kick returner. He had an 80-yard return for a touchdown against St. Lawrence last week.
  4. Hobart senior linebacker Mike McGhee has a league-leading 80 tackles this season. For his career, he's recorded 214 stops, which ranks 23rd on Hobart's all-time list. McGhee is one behind No. 22 Kyle O'Laughlin '11, three shy of No. 21 Devin Worthington '14 and eight away from No. 20 Tony Clemente '06.
  5. Buffalo State leads the Liberty League in passing defense, allowing just 139.2 yards through the air per game. Teams have attacked the Bengals on the ground, where they give up 218.8 yards per game, last in the league.
