Leitner named All-American

12/4/2025 1:42:00 PM

Hobart sophomore forward Brady Leitner was named a 2025 United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American by the organization today. He is the first Statesman to receive All-America recognition since 1992.

Leitner is the sixth Statesman in program history to be honored by the United Soccer Coaches with All-American praise and just the second first team pick (Jeffrey Saunders in 1992). Leitner is the first Hobart All-American for Poole Family Head Coach Shawn Griffin. It is the seventh All-American in Griffin's 34-season coaching career.

A native of Mahopac, New York, Leitner started all 18 games he played in this fall. He led the Statesmen with nine goals and 19 points. Leitner led the Liberty League with four game-winning goals. He scored in three of Hobart's first four games, including both goals in a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at Utica. Leitner also scored twice in a victory over Brockport.

Leitner was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region III first team on Tuesday. He also earned All-Liberty League first team praise.

A two-time All-Liberty League first-team selection, Leitner has played in 35 career games. He has 29 points on 14 goals and one assist.

Leitner and his teammates went 13-1-5 this season. The Statesmen were 6-0-3 in Liberty League play, capturing the conference regular season and tournament titles for the fifth time. Hobart entered the NCAA tournament with an undefeated record, but was edged by Messiah 1-0 in overtime in the first round.
