GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart and William Smith basketball teams will host Rally for Relief games Tuesday night when they welcome Ithaca to Bristol Gymnasium. Rally for Relief is a student-run initiative raising money to aid Jamaica's recovery efforts following the devastation created by Hurricane Melissa in October.

Rally for Relief was started by Kai-Justin Yapp '29 to assist with the recovery efforts in his home country. All funds raised will be donated to Food for the Poor, a non-profit charity that provides food, medicine and shelter to the poor in Latin America and the Caribbean. To support Rally for Relief, donations will be accepted via cash or Venmo (@hwscolleges).

A Category 5 hurricane, Melissa was the most powerful storm to hit Jamaica and one of the top 3 most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in recorded history. At least 45 people were killed with 18 people still missing over a month later. Thousands of families were left homeless with damage estimates in the billions of dollars.

William Smith basketball will tip off against the Bombers starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by Hobart-Ithaca game at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be webcast on HWS All-Access.
