ITHACA, N.Y. – The Hobart and William Smith swimming & diving teams swam in the second day of the 2025 Liberty League Championships on Thursday. Nine Herons made the finals in five individual events and one relay event. Sophomore Mackenzie Morus shined for William Smith, finishing in the top 10 in the 400-yard individual medley.
In the 400 IM, Morus qualified for the B final after clocking in at 4:49.89 in the prelims. Classmate Zoe Skidell and senior Tori Smith both qualified for the C final with respective times of 5:29.91 and 5:20.21. Morus finished ninth overall, winning the B final with a time of 4:49.19, while Smith finished 19th and Skidell finished 21st overall with respective times of 5:15.34 and 5:33.00.
Senior Tessa Yohan earned her spot in the B final of the 100 fly, touching the wall at 1:00.91 in the prelims. She finished 15th overall after stopping the clock at 1:01.07, finishing seventh in her finals heat. Junior Hali Seidberg qualified for the C final in the same event with a time of 1:03.59 in the prelims. She finished 22nd overall with a time of 1:03.52 in the finals.
The 200 freestyle relay team of first-year Jenna Flihan, junior Maggie Woodruff, and sophomores Zoe Neiderbach and Tiernee Brandes clinched a spot in the C final stopping the clock at 1:51.66 in the prelims. The Heron relay team finished 22nd overall after clocking in at 1:48.76 in the finals.

The Statesmen and Herons will make their way back to Ithaca's Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium for Day 3 of the Liberty League Championships Friday with preliminary races to begin at 10 a.m.
