The Hobart baseball team earned its first regional ranking since returning to varsity status in 2023. The Statesmen are seventh in Region III in this week's NCAA ranking.
 
Hobart's 14-10 overall record includes a pair of wins over RIT, which is ranked fourth in Region III. The Statesmen are among the national leaders in double plays and stolen bases. Hobart has turned 28 double plays, 10th in the country and second in double plays per game (1.17). The Statesmen have run wild on the base paths, swiping a league-high 86 bases, 17th in Division III (5th in stolen bases per game, 3.58).
 
Hobart is scheduled to play four games this weekend beginning Thursday with a non-conference, home game against Keuka (10-15). First pitch at McDonough Park is scheduled for 5 p.m. The game will be webcast on HWS All-Access with Live Stats on HWSAthletics.com. WHWS-FM will broadcast the game live.
 
The Statesmen return to Liberty League play on Friday with the first of three games at St. Lawrence (8-16, 4-6). Hobart is 5-7 in conference play, fourth in the Liberty League West, a game ahead of the Saints.
