Statesmen return home to face Spiders

GENEVA, N.Y.—Following a four-game road trip, the Hobart lacrosse team will return to Boswell Field at Urick Stadium Saturday, April 5. The Statesmen will host Atlantic 10 Conference foe No. 9 Richmond starting at noon.
 
The Statesmen Athletic Association, the team behind Hobart's teams, is sponsoring a t-shirt giveaway during the game. Concessions vendor Dana's Time Out is also giving away free food. Fans with a valid HWS OneCard will receive one free item.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
  • Hobart graduate student Cole Emmanuel continues to rank among the best in the nation at the faceoff X. He enters the weekend 10th with a .617 winning percentage. As a team, Hobart is fifth in the country with a .634 winning percentage and 22nd in ground balls per game (5.8).
  • Senior attackman Will Delano counts five extra-man goals among his 16 tallies this season. He leads the A10 and is seventh in the nation in that category.
  • Richmond graduate student defenseman Mitchell Dunham is eighth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.1). As a team, the Spiders are sixth in the nation, averaging 11.0 caused turnovers per game.
  • In goal, graduate student Zach Vigue is 11th in the nation in goals against average at 8.50.
 
FOR THE RECORD
  • Richmond has won four of its last five games to improve to 7-3 overall. The Spiders won their A10 opener 22-5 over St. Bonaventure last Saturday.
  • Hobart is looking to halt a three-game slide that includes close losses to St. John's (13-11) and High Point (13-11). The Statesmen are 3-7 overall.
 
SERIES SNAPSHOT
  • Saturday's game will be just the third between Hobart and Richmond.
  • The Spiders won on their home turf last season, 21-8, and prevailed in a shootout 20-15 in Geneva in 2023.
