The Hobart rowing team competed against Bucknell on the Cayuga Seneca Canal this afternoon. The scrimmage, which is composed of four 1500-meter pieces, has been a long tradition between the Statesmen and the Bison.
 
With five varsity eights on the water, the Statesmen won nineteen out of twenty pieces against Bucknell.
 
VARSITY EIGHT

• Hobart's 1V was powered by Sam Hyman, Colin Mester, Charles Watroba, Jayden Dasher, James Feeley IV, Lex Lauer, Álvaro Paulin, Nicholas Short, and Sean Madden.
• The Hobart Varsity Eight moved into the lead early and secured a first place in all four pieces against the Bison even with both heavy headwind and tailwind depending on the direction of the race.

 
SECOND VARSITY EIGHT

• Representing the 2V; Ellie Dial, Panagiotis Giannakopoulos, Adam Pomerantz, Owen O'Connor, Ryan Agans, Trevor Beatley, Alan Marusic, Chase Sneddon, and Aidan Vanek.
• Like the Varsity Eight, the 2V also won all of their pieces as well. Using their ability to get off the line quickly, they were able to take an early lead in every piece.

 
THIRD VARSITY EIGHT

• Leah Henning, Bode Lonergan, Carlo Capitanucci, Sam Peeler, James Faulkner, Henry McComb, Kiré Richardson, Tibor Teleki, and Brogan Dietsche raced in the 3V8.
• Hobart's depth continued to show, with the 3V dominating the waters winning every piece against Bucknell by at least 15 seconds.
• On their fourth piece the 3V won in spectacular fashion by nearly 20 seconds against the Bison.

 
FOUR VARSITY EIGHT

• The Statesmen's 4V was driven by Reed Bluestein, Nikolai Sazonov, Kevin Frost, Holden May, Liam Yokanovich, Ryan Behar, Colin Gilder, William Walker, and Mason Fairfield.
• The Hobart 4V followed in fashion with the other three boats, also winning each piece by a sizable margin.

 
FIFTH VARSITY EIGHT

• Racing in the 5V was Isabel Goldblatt-Hamilton, Andrew Painton, Joey Burvis, Michael Gilbert, Jake Shue, Asher Landis, Wil Ozanne, Cayden Hill, Ian Selover.
• The 5V rounded out Hobart's performance winning three out of four pieces. Working with a mostly new lineup, the 5V continued to give it their all.

Hobart will be back in action Saturday, April 12, when it heads to Philadelphia for the Drexel Invite. Racing is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
