The William Smith lacrosse team will be back in action Wednesday, April 9, when it welcomes Liberty League rival Ithaca to Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium for a key conference contest. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

The Herons, who are 8-3 overall and 5-0 in Liberty League play, are coming off a pair of wins last weekend over St. Lawrence and Clarkson. William Smith is ranked 11th in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Poll and 12th in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll.Â

The Bombers are 7-3 overall with a 4-1 mark in conference play. They also defeated the Golden Knights and the Saints last weekend. Ithaca is 18th in the IWLCA Poll and 17th in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll.

ABOUT THE HERONS
- Senior Katherine Murray leads the way offensively for William Smith with 45 points on 32 goals and 13 assists.
- Junior Natalie Daniels and sophomore Kira Fulton have 21 and 20 goals, respectively.
- Daniels, who was named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll yesterday leads the league in draw controls per game at 9.11
- Senior Nikki Pio has a team-high 18 caused turnovers. Junior Lily Kuhn is right behind her with 14 and earned a spot on the weekly honor roll with five caused turnovers against Clarkson.
- Senior Maura Smeader has played every minute in goal. She has a .542 save percentage and a 7.00 GAA. Smeader is 12th in the nation in save percentage and 16th in GAA.
- As a team, the Herons are fifth in the nation in clearing percentage (.900), eighth in turnovers per game (12.82), ninth in draw control percentage (.633) and 21st in scoring defense (7.00).

- Lily Cody leads Ithaca with 31 goals and 42 points. Elizabeth Green is second on the team with 26 goals.
- Leigh Naturale has a team-high 17 assists.

- Mikaela Dattilo has played the majority of minutes in goal. She has a 9.19 GAA and a .468 save percentage.
