5/15/2025 4:43:00 PM

Hobart baseball Head Coach Brad Cook and assistant coach Vin Redmond will host four youth camps and an elite prospect camp this summer. FLX Baseball Camps are designed to develop the skills and knowledge of baseball players of all ages.

There will be two sessions of the Youth Baseball Camp, one at the Geneva Little League complex June 30 through July 3 and one at the Canandaigua Junior Baseball fields July 21 through July 24. The youth camps are for kids ages 7 to 12 and run from 9 a.m. until noon each day. Topics include stretching and throwing drills, defense, hitting and baserunning with scrimmages and whiffleball games.

There will also be two sessions of the Advanced Camp for kids ages 13-16. The first one will be at the Geneva Little League complex June 30 through July 3 and the second at the Canandaigua Junior Baseball fields July 21 through July 24. The Advanced Camp will run from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Topics include dynamic warmup, throwing program, defensive drills, baserunning, hitting rotation and games.

The cost of the Youth Camp and Advanced Camp is $200 per session.

The final camp of the summer will be the Elite Prospect Camp at McDonough Field, home of the Statesmen, Aug. 23-24. This camp is designed for players in grades 9-12 and is designed to help develop high school players while giving them insight into a college baseball program.

Cost of the Elite Prospect Camp is $100 for pitchers, $150 for position players, and $200 for two-way players. Saturday's program begins at 5 p.m. and is for position players and two-way players only. Sunday's session begins at 8:15 a.m. and includes two nine-inning games.

All campers should dress appropriately (baseball pants, cleats) and bring their own glove, helmet and bat.

Camp Director Brad Cook has led the rebirth of the Hobart baseball program. Since 2023, he's led the Statesmen to 44 wins, including an 18-17 record this season, Hobart's first winning season since 1994. Cook has more than two decades of coaching experience and has worked with 11 players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft or signed as free agents, including two that pitched in the majors.
